In the vine

The terroir of the Crausaz estate covers 3.5ha near the village of Grandvaux. Located in the heart of Lavaux and enjoying a dominant position, our Estate, a magnificent stately building from the 16th century, offers breathtaking views of Lake Geneva. A deep clay soil borders another composed of sands and pebbles from the glacial moraines. On the ridges, the soils are shallow. The molasse exposed by the glacier can thus give its full character to the wine.

During the harvest

2017 was characterized by a very favorable climate throughout the wine season with less rain than in 2016. After a scorching summer period, the autumn was relatively cool but dry. These favorable conditions led to very early harvests which started at the beginning of September for certain specialties and in mid-September for the classic wines, that is to say about two weeks ahead of the average. The very healthy and concentrated grapes could be picked with high sugar contents, good acidity and excellent phenolic maturity. The year 2017 produced excellent quality wines, rich and aromatic with a beautiful expression of fruity / floral freshness supported by a positive acidity. The minerality of our different terroirs is well highlighted by the vintage. These are wines that will evolve well over time.

In the cellar

Our Viognier is cut to join the club of great wines for aging. Vinified and matured for a long time in contact with the oak - thus allowing all the energies from its assembly to be channeled - it is intended to accompany your best gastronomic moments. Being both powerful and rich in aromas, it nevertheless has an elegant and very sensual soul.
